Islamabad High Court Reviews PIA Privatization Process

The Supreme Court of Islamabad is reviewing the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines. The federal government and other involved parties have two weeks to submit their positions. The case challenges the bidding process from December 23, 2025, and the selection of a consortium led by Arif Habib as the buyer. The plaintiffs argue that the legal basis for privatization had expired by the time of bidding and was only extended in March 2026. They also criticize an allegedly outdated company valuation and irregularities in the bidding process. The court adjourned the case until the last week of October 2026.
