Klasjet has secured Part 129 approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration. The approval lets the Lithuanian carrier fly into, out of and through US territory.

The company, part of Avia Solutions Group, said the authorisation covers charter and wet-lease services with its Boeing 737 NG fleet. According to Klasjet, other approvals it needs, including from the US Department of Transportation, are already in place.

The operator sees room for extra capacity in North and South America, citing seasonal demand peaks, maintenance events, delayed aircraft deliveries and other operational bottlenecks. Klasjet said the FAA approval lets it start concrete talks with prospective customers.
