Luxair takes delivery of its first owned Boeing 737 Max 8 jets

Luxair has taken delivery of its first two owned Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. The airline presented the jets at an event at Luxembourg Airport on Friday, 28 August.

The carrier had already been flying two leased 737 Max 8 aircraft before these deliveries. Its Max 8 fleet now includes both owned and leased units.

According to the airline, its total order book includes eight Boeing 737 Max 8 and four 737 Max 10 aircraft, plus options for two further Max 10s. The deliveries are part of a wider fleet renewal programme that Luxair expects to complete by the mid-2030s.

Earlier in the first half of 2026, the airline had also taken delivery of four Embraer E195-E2 aircraft as part of the same effort. The mix of Boeing narrowbodies and Embraer regional jets reflects Luxair's plan to modernise both its short-haul and regional operations over the coming decade.

No further details on delivery timing for the remaining aircraft on order were disclosed.
