Man arrested in London over suspicious activity near RAF Fairford
British counter-terrorism officers detained a 25-year-old dual national in Westminster as part of an investigation into activity near the Gloucestershire air base. Five men arrested at the base in September remain on bail.

Counter-terrorism police arrested a 25-year-old man in Westminster, London, on 1 October over suspicious activity near RAF Fairford. The man holds British and Iranian nationality and was held on suspicion of preparing acts of terrorism, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. Officers searched two addresses in Westminster.
The arrest came after five men were detained near the Gloucestershire air base on 27 September. All five remain on police bail.
Investigators said petrol was recovered from vehicles involved in the 27 September incident and that no improvised explosive device was found. Detectives are examining whether a foreign state played a role but have announced no conclusion. Iran has denied any involvement.
US bombers used in operations against Iran have been hosted at RAF Fairford.
Police later corrected their first account of the 1 October arrest. The man is 25, not 27, and an earlier suggestion that a second person had been questioned under caution was withdrawn.
