NetJets Citation Longitude lands with nose gear retracted in Ohio

A NetJets Citation Longitude business jet landed with its nose landing gear up at Akron-Canton Airport, with both pilots escaping injury.

A NetJets Cessna Citation Longitude made an emergency landing at Akron-Canton Airport in Ohio after its nose landing gear failed to extend, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The aircraft, registered N803QS and operating as NetJets flight EJA803 from Washington Dulles International Airport, touched down on its main gear first. The pilots held the nose off the runway briefly before it settled onto the pavement as the jet slowed.

Both pilots aboard were uninjured. No passengers were on the flight, which had departed Dulles shortly before 11 a.m. local time and landed at Akron-Canton around 12:53 p.m., based on flight tracking data.

The jet's nose and underside were damaged. Fire crews from the City of Green and airport emergency responders attended the scene.

Federal Aviation Administration records identify the aircraft as a 2020 Textron Aviation Model 700 Citation Longitude, registered under a fractional ownership arrangement. The cause of the gear malfunction has not yet been determined.

The Longitude is the largest jet in Cessna's current business aircraft lineup. NetJets was the launch customer for the type, having placed an order in 2018 covering up to 175 aircraft, including firm and optional units. The twin-engine jet is powered by Honeywell turbofans and has a stated range of roughly 3,500 nautical miles. NetJets configures its cabins for up to 12 passengers.
