Poland and Spain advance joint €5.4 billion Airbus A330 MRTT tanker deal

Spain and Poland are moving forward with a joint purchase of Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport aircraft, in a programme worth up to €5.4 billion, according to aviation24.be.

The Spanish Council of Ministers has approved its part of the deal, which covers at least seven of the tanker aircraft between the two countries. Poland is due to receive four of the aircraft by 2030, under a scheme backed by the EU.

The A330 MRTT is used by several air forces for aerial refuelling and for carrying troops or cargo. The available material did not fully specify how the aircraft and costs are split between Warsaw and Madrid, nor did it give a firm delivery schedule for Spain's share.
