Qatar Airways retires last Airbus A330, seconds pilots to RwandAir

Qatar Airways has retired its last Airbus A330 passenger aircraft, ending the type's run at the carrier. The airline had intended to keep the A330 in service for less time than it ultimately did.

With more than a dozen A330-trained pilots facing limited commercial flying during what was described as a regional disruption, the airline is offering them a voluntary short-term secondment at RwandAir to keep their skills current.

Two people familiar with the matter and fleet data provided the details of the retirement and the pilot placement.
