Regent's Squire seaglider takes part in US military electronic warfare exercise
Regent's autonomous wing-in-ground vehicle Squire participated in the Silent Swarm exercise at a Michigan training center, testing electronic warfare capabilities alongside other uncrewed systems.
Regent, a Rhode Island startup, said its autonomous wing-in-ground vehicle Squire took part in a US military exercise called Silent Swarm, held at the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center in Michigan between July 13 and 24, 2026. The company announced the completion of the exercise on August 18, 2026.
According to Regent, the exercise involved multiple small uncrewed systems operating across land, water and air domains, tested against various electromagnetic countermeasures under real-world conditions. Squire reportedly carried a range of payloads during simulated missions tied to electronic attack, electronic protection and electronic warfare support, with the company saying the goal was to show the vehicle's ability to work alongside other military assets.
Squire is described by Regent as a long-range, low-signal seaglider capable of speeds up to roughly 70 knots, or about 130 km/h, intended for use in contested maritime environments. The vehicle remains under development.
Regent said the Squire USA-V drone is designed for missions including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, frontline logistics, search and rescue, and anti-submarine warfare, and can carry payloads of up to about 50 pounds.
The company noted that Squire became the first purpose-built military wing-in-ground vehicle to fly in the United States in April 2026. Since then, it has taken part in additional demonstrations with the US Marine Corps Warfighting Lab, including dockside litter boarding, beach extractions and an open-water life raft rescue, according to Regent.
