Singapore to host inaugural Passenger Terminal Expo Asia in 2026

Singapore is set to host the first edition of the Passenger Terminal Expo Asia, scheduled for 23–24 September 2026 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre. Organisers expect the event to draw more than 3,500 industry professionals, alongside roughly 200 speakers and 125 exhibitors covering airport development, operations, security, sustainability and passenger experience.

According to organisers, Sun Xueling, Singapore's Senior Minister of State for Transport and National Development, will serve as Guest of Honour and open the event.

The expo is being positioned against a backdrop of strong forecast growth in regional air travel. Airports Council International's Asia-Pacific & Middle East branch projects annual passenger traffic growth of 4.8% in Asia-Pacific and 5.4% in the Middle East between 2025 and 2028, organisers said. Southeast Asian airport expansion projects already disclosed are said to represent at least $40 billion in investment through the early-to-mid-2030s, with further spending anticipated on aircraft, airport technology and air-traffic infrastructure.

Sessions at the two-day gathering will focus on how airports plan to handle rising passenger numbers while maintaining safety, resilience and accessibility. Topics include connected passenger experience, intelligent operations, climate strategy, commercial investment, master planning and advanced air mobility.

The programme will also highlight technology aimed at supporting that growth, including artificial intelligence, biometric identity systems, automation, and next-generation baggage and security screening, according to the organisers' description of the event.
