SkyAlps adds loyalty programme and holiday booking platform

SkyAlps is widening its business beyond flying. The South Tyrolean airline has introduced a frequent-flyer programme and a platform for booking holidays, both aimed at making travel to South Tyrol simpler.

The airline was set up in 2021 by Josef Gostner, a Bolzano entrepreneur who is also a pilot. It currently links Bolzano with 25 cities in Europe. Its non-stop service to Antwerp began in the winter 2022/23 season and will reach a fifth winter in a row in 2026/27. SkyAlps will also keep the route running all year in 2027, the second year in succession it has done so.

The loyalty scheme, called SkyAlps Circle, lets members collect Award Miles and spend them on tickets. It also covers account and trip management online, stores passenger information to speed up bookings, and includes a Family Pool feature that lets members combine their miles. Travellers at Silver and Gold level get extra perks, priority treatment and other benefits.

A second service, SkyAlps Holidays, allows customers to book a flight and a room together, drawing on more than 200 selected luxury hotels in South Tyrol. Transfers to and from airports and rental cars can be added, and the whole trip is bought in one booking and checkout. When flights and accommodation are booked as a package, the combined purchase carries the protections that apply to package holidays, according to the airline.
