Swissport to take majority stake in Colombian ground handler GHI

Swissport has signed a binding agreement to acquire a majority stake in Giraldo Hermanos International, a Colombian ground handler known as GHI. It would be Swissport's first move into Colombia.

GHI operates in Bogotá and Medellín, and is authorised to provide ground handling at all major airports in the country. It handles passengers and cargo, and assists travellers with reduced mobility.

According to the announcement, its customers include Copa Airlines, Air Europa, Turpial Airlines, Solar Cargo and FedEx. Swissport already operates at 85 airports in 15 countries across Latin America.

The transaction is subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
