Tecnam seeks FAR-23 approval to bring P2008JC NG to US market

Tecnam has introduced an updated version of its P2008JC training aircraft for the US market and is pursuing certification under the American FAR-23 standard.

Tecnam announced on Monday that it is bringing the P2008JC NG to the United States, where it intends to certify the aircraft under the American FAR-23 standard.

The plane is a development of the existing P2008JC trainer. Certification would make the single-engine aircraft attractive to US flight schools that operate under Part 61 and Part 141 training rules. It has a carbon-fibre fuselage, metal wings and a Rotax 912 iS fuel-injected engine.

The P2008JC NG is approved for visual flight by day and by night, and Tecnam is positioning it as a low-cost platform for pilot training.
