Union criticises Lufthansa City Airlines over delayed labour deal implementation

Cabin crew union Ufo has accused Lufthansa City Airlines and rival union Verdi of dragging out implementation of an agreed pay settlement.

The cabin crew union Ufo has criticised delays in putting a negotiated labour agreement into effect at Lufthansa City Airlines. It places responsibility on both the carrier and the rival union Verdi.

According to Verdi's own account, certain pay components have been outstanding since April. Ufo added that an already-negotiated part-time working agreement remains unsigned. Questions over occupational pension arrangements are also still unresolved.

Lufthansa City Airlines has reportedly said it will only adjust its crew rostering process in time for the October schedule. Ufo considers that timeline too slow. The union is calling for full and timely implementation of what has been agreed, along with retroactive payment of entitlements already due.

Ufo also urged Verdi to clarify publicly which provisions have already been bindingly agreed and how it intends to enforce the points still open. The union said internal coordination issues, system adjustments, or the introduction of the Airbus A220 into the fleet should not be used as a standing excuse for further delay.

The dispute centers on how quickly commitments made during collective bargaining translate into changes for crew members, including pay and rostering. No strike action or further escalation was mentioned in connection with the criticism.
