Uniper signs long-term eSAF supply deal with Arcadia eFuels
Uniper has agreed to buy 40,000 tonnes of synthetic sustainable aviation fuel a year for more than a decade from Arcadia eFuels' planned Danish project. Deliveries are expected to begin in the early 2030s.
Uniper has signed a long-term offtake agreement with Arcadia eFuels for synthetic sustainable aviation fuel, or eSAF. The Düsseldorf-based energy group will buy 40,000 tonnes a year for more than ten years, sourced from Arcadia's planned Endor project in Vordingborg, Denmark. Deliveries are due to start in the early 2030s under the current plan.
The companies said the volume is roughly equal to the annual fuel consumption of 1,000 Boeing 787-9 flights between Düsseldorf and Abu Dhabi. Arcadia intends to make the eSAF from renewable electricity, green hydrogen and captured CO2. No financial terms were disclosed.
