US Air Force to become first military operator of Boeing 737 Max
The US Air Force plans to buy a Boeing 737 Max, making it the type's first military operator, with $250 million set aside in the 2026 defence budget. The aircraft would add to the existing C-40 fleet.
The US Air Force plans to buy a Boeing 737 Max, which would make it the first military operator of the type. The 2026 defence budget sets aside 250 million dollars, about 215 million euros, for the purchase.
The aircraft would expand the capabilities of the existing Boeing C-40 fleet. No delivery date has been set.
Air Mobility Command is already preparing to introduce the 737 Max 8. Experienced 737 pilots will receive conversion training on the new model, and a corresponding training contract is due to begin on 1 November.
