US Army Black Hawk tests air-launched effects including Anduril Altius-700

During Project Convergence Capstone 6, an H-60M Black Hawk launched an Anduril Altius-700 air-launched effect, which autonomously found a target, passed data, and struck, following earlier medium-range launched effect tests in Virginia and Mojave Desert trials.

An H-60M Black Hawk crew used an Altius-700 air-launched effect during the U.S. Army's Project Convergence Capstone 6. The uncrewed system located a target on its own, passed data across the formation, and conducted a strike, according to Sikorsky and the U.S. Army.

The Capstone event followed June flight tests at Fort A.P. Hill's test range in Virginia, where H-60M aircrews launched and controlled multiple medium-range launched effects over three days. Earlier, in the Mojave Desert, crews of a fully networked H-60 launched and controlled multiple launched effects and checked the system's environmental resilience in extreme heat.

The Army's Increment 1 air-launched effects capability is fully government owned and designed. It was developed with the Utility Helicopters Project Office and the DEVCOM Aviation and Missile Center. The Altius-700 is a modular air vehicle that can carry ISR, electronic-warfare, communications, and other payloads. The Altius-700M variant is weaponized.
