Wingcopter unveils Wingcopter 262 reconnaissance drone

German drone maker Wingcopter has presented the Wingcopter 262, an electric vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing drone for military and security reconnaissance missions.

Wingcopter has unveiled the Wingcopter 262, a new electric drone for military and security-related reconnaissance. It is a fixed-wing design that takes off and lands vertically.

The company says the drone weighs ten kilograms and has a wingspan of 2.62 metres. Flight times of up to six hours and a tactical range of 150 kilometres are planned.

AI-supported optical and infrared cameras can be fitted to the 262, which is intended to be operable without satellite navigation. Interchangeable batteries are meant to allow rapid redeployment.

Wingcopter also plans to integrate the drone into existing battle management systems. Under the "Build with Ukraine" initiative, it is cooperating with TAF Industries and intends to make the new model available to Ukraine as well.
