Wingo to resume Caracas flights, maintain three Colombia-Venezuela routes

Wingo will restart flights to Caracas' Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía on September 7, 2026. The low-cost carrier plans a daily service from Bogotá and three weekly flights from Medellín.

The airline had stopped flying to Maiquetía. During that period it launched a route between Bogotá and Arturo Michelena International Airport in Valencia on July 3, 2026, which continues with three weekly frequencies.

With the Caracas resumption, Wingo's Colombia-Venezuela network will have three direct routes: Bogotá-Caracas, Medellín-Caracas, and Bogotá-Valencia. Combined, they total 13 weekly frequencies and about 80,000 seats in both directions between September 7 and the end of 2026.

The airline said it has kept a sustained presence in Colombia-Venezuela connectivity and that its commitment to the market is long-term. It stayed in the market through Valencia while Caracas operations were suspended, and now that conditions permit a return to the capital, it expects to progressively recover its operation.
