Air carrier Captain reported a critical ground conflict while following Tower's clearance to cross a closed runway. A truck drove in front of the aircraft causing the flight to stop abruptly.

Narrative

Arrived very late at night. landed XXR and were cleared to cross the closed runway XXL by tower. I left all landing lights on to cross the runway XXL and as I almost cleared XXL; a truck hauling a double sized dump trailer drove right in front of us. he appeared to have a pickup truck guiding him; but the pickup truck saw us and stopped but the dump truck went right in front of us causing me to stop fairly abruptly.
