ATR-72 First Officer and Dispatcher reported maintenance failed to follow proper fueling procedure resulting in engine flame out on landing.
Narrative
Left engine flameout on base to final to XXR accompanied with a brief right engine flameout. Immediately recovered right engine and secured left engine. [Requested priority handling] and landed single engine on XXR.Cause: Fuel gauge MEL. The procedure to ensure that fuel tanks were fueled properly by maintenance was performed erroneously; per procedure described in MEL manual.Suggestions: Maintenance needs to be properly trained to perform the proper fueling procedure prescribed in the aircraft's MEL manual.
Second reporter narrative
44 minutes after landing we received information about flight [requesting priority handling] on final after dual engine flame out; later spoke with captain and confirmed one engine flame out. Cause: According to flight crew believe engine flame out due to fuel issues.Suggestions: Better communication between flight crew and Dispatch.
