Narrative
Summary of EventAircraft was dispatched under MEL XX-XX-XXX; which required ENG 2 BLEED and PACK 2 OFF. After leveling at cruise and in contact with ZZZ Center; the cockpit and cabin temperatures increased significantly. QRH PRO COND TOO HOT was consulted. Shortly after; ECAM ADVISORY; CAB PR CAB ALTITUDE appeared. CAB ALT was already in red and increasing; although no warning had yet been triggered.Crew Actions: -Requested immediate descent to FL200 due to imminent depressurization. ATC cleared descent and it was initiated. -During descent; ECAM WARNING CAB PR EXCESS CAB ALT was triggered. Initial EMERGENCY DESCENT PROCEDURE actions were carried out; including a priority handling request to ATC. -As part of troubleshooting; PACK 2 was selected ON (per MEL PROC note). PACK 2 came online; cabin re-pressurized; and conditions improved.Stabilization: -Descent continued to FL200 to monitor and stabilize the situation. -ATC was updated with the full priority handling report in accordance with company manuals. -Once situation under control; priority handling status was canceled with ATC. -Aircraft climbed back to FL290 and continued flight to ZZZZ uneventfully. -Dispatch was informed of the situation.
Second reporter narrative
Sending cordial regards; hoping this message finds you well. The aircraft was dispatched with MEL XX-XX-XXX; ENGINE 2 AIR BLEED FAULT. According to this procedure; after engine start we are required to cut off the inoperative bleed along with its respective pack. This was carried out following the procedure step by step.Already in the cruise phase; a few minutes after leveling off; we received a report from our flight attendants that the cabin felt very warm. After analyzing the situation; we decided to consult the QRH procedure COND TOO HOT - COCKPIT AND CABIN TEMP IN FLIGHT. While doing so and reviewing the system display page; we noticed an advisory related to CAB PR CAB ALTITUDE. We analyzed the system and realized that the cabin altitude was in the red range; above the maximum permitted value. We requested descent from ZZZ Center to FL200 since cabin depressurization was imminent. Once the descent was initiated; we received the ECAM warning CAB PR EXCESS CAB ALT. The memory items were performed and priority handling was requested.During these actions; Pack 2 was selected ON in accordance with a note referenced in the MEL. At that moment Pack 2 engaged; and the system began to respond normally. We leveled off at FL200; analyzed the situation; informed ATC as well as Dispatch; cancelled the priority handling status; and decided to climb back to FL290 to continue to our destination without any further issues.
