Narrative
Tug driver started pushback without Captains clearance. Tug driver never asked for 'brakes released' or 'cleared to push'. Tug driver began push and forced tow bar into aircraft nose gear. Bent tow bar connector 90 degrees and possibly damaged nose gear tires and strut. Captain called Maintenance and Chief Pilot. Tug driver fled the scene soon thereafter.Cause: Tug driver did not communicate with crew.

Tug driver started pushback not Captains clearance; tug never ask for brakes release or cleared to push. Tug driver left scene after few min.Cause: Tug not communicating with crew.Suggestion: New tug driver.
