Narrative
I am writing this report on behalf of my company's request for a mistake I made on a utility inspection contract outside of ZZZ Airport.The company I work for is Company X. As a contractor for Company X I am responsible for utility inspections.On Day 0 I was operating; doing utility inspections on distribution telecommunication poles outside of ZZZ.I misread the map and made a mistake of operating outside of our authorized waiver.My mistake was going outside of the Certificate of waiver or authorization.I did not realize that these poles I collected were not a part of the waiver even though this contract has those poles to inspect. I understand this is a serious infraction; I did make a mistake and there was no danger involved.I do apologize for this mistake; and I will be more conscious of my flight planning on my daily operations; especially around restricted airspaces.

The reporter stated the COA has an area with airspace approval up to 100 feet for numerous utility poles. On this flight the reporter flew to two different poles that were not covered by the COA and were within the Class B airspace. They did not obtain LAANC authorization as they believed they were flying within the area covered by the COA.
