A B727-200 CREW; AFTER LNDG ON RWY 33L; TURNED ONTO BOS RWY 22L MISTAKING IT FOR RWY 22R BECAUSE DRIFTING SNOW OBSCURED TXWY RWY MARKERS.

Narrative

AFTER LNDG AT BOS ON RWY 33L; I CLRED THE RWY TO THE L AT TXWY F. A CONCERTED EFFORT WAS MADE TO SLOW IN TIME ENOUGH TO MAKE THIS TURNOFF; DUE TO THE REMAINING SURFACE OF THE RWY BEING CONTAMINATED WITH ICE AND SNOW. THE PREVIOUS LNDG ACFT; A B757; HAD RPTED 'BRAKING ACTION FAIR.' AS WE WERE CLRING THE RWY WE WERE TOLD TO 'BACK TAXI RWY 22R TO 'WHISKEY' THEN 'BRAVO' AND PARKING.' OUR DEST WAS S CARGO RAMP. I EXECUTED A L TURN ONTO WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE RWY 22R; BUT IN ACTUALITY WAS RWY 22L. WHILE BACK-TAXIING; I WAS TRYING TO BETTER ORIENT MYSELF; BUT WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY DOING SO DUE TO THE SNOW DRIFTS THAT HAD OBSCURED ALL OF THE RWY AND TXWY SIGNS AND MARKINGS (REF NOTAM BOS). I PROCEEDED TO PASS 3 UNDISTINGUISHABLE TXWYS LEADING TO MY R INTENDING TO TURN ONTO TXWY W AS INSTRUCTED TO DO. AS I TURNED ONTO WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE THE CORRECT TXWY I WAS ACTUALLY TURNING ONTO THE REMAINING 800 FT OF THE RWY 27. UNKNOWN TO ME; THIS CAUSED AN ACR FLT TO ABORT THEIR TKOF AFTER A 400 FT ROLL. THIS INFO WAS PROVIDED TO ME FROM THE OPS SUPVR ON DUTY AT THE TIME. AT THIS POINT WAS THE FIRST NOTICE TO ME THAT WE HAD NOT BEEN ON THE PROPER ROUTING.
