History of the Flight
On 14 August 2021, at approximately 10:30 local time, a Galeb G-2A aircraft, registration YU-YAE, operated by Aeroklub 'Galeb' from Belgrade, was conducting familiarization flights for a training candidate in basic aerobatic flying. The pilot and a passenger (the candidate) were on board. After takeoff at 09:30, the pilot performed aerodrome circuits with touch-and-go landings. During the final circuit, while landing, the pilot stated that he forgot to extend the landing gear. The aircraft touched the ground with the lower fuselage and came to a stop approximately 350 meters from the initial ground contact.
Injuries
There were no injuries to the pilot or any other person.
Aircraft Damage
The aircraft sustained minor damage to the lower fuselage, particularly in the area of the air brake, the ventral fin, the antenna, and the trailing edges of the flaps.
Weather
Weather conditions were favorable for the planned flight: temperature around 30°C, pressure 1021 mbar, sunny with no clouds, variable wind up to 3 m/s from 170°, visibility 10+ km.
Sequence of Events
After takeoff at 09:30 and work in the aerodrome zone, the pilot began performing aerodrome circuits with touch-and-go exercises. In the last circuit, during the landing phase, the pilot forgot to extend the landing gear. The aircraft touched the ground with the lower fuselage and stopped about 350 meters from the first contact.
