What happened
The pilot was engaged in a specialized filming assignment for an agricultural spraying operation. During the execution of one of the required low passes, the aircraft collided with two members of the ground crew positioned below.
Upon investigation of the site, pieces of the wooden propeller were discovered in the immediate vicinity of where the ground party had been located. This debris indicated that the propeller, which was used to drive the spray pump, had suffered significant failure or detachment during the incident.
The collision resulted in severe trauma for those involved. The cameraman sustained fatal injuries and did not survive the accident. The other ground crew member struck by the aircraft is also noted as having been injured in the event.
