Accident Sequence
According to the pilot, the flight departed for a local area. After reaching approximately 1,000 feet above ground level, the engine suddenly lost power. The pilot attempted to restart the engine but was unsuccessful. Subsequently, the aircraft was landed firmly on a roadway.
Post-Landing Events
Upon landing, the pilot detected the smell of gasoline fumes and quickly exited the aircraft. Shortly after the pilot exited, the aircraft began burning and was eventually destroyed by the fire. The pilot described the landing as harder than normal but believed that no damage occurred during the touchdown phase.
Pilot's Belief
The pilot expressed the opinion that a fuel line failure may have caused both the loss of engine power and the subsequent fire after landing. However, this assertion was not verified during the investigation.
Investigation Status
As of the report, no conclusive determination had been made regarding the cause of the power loss or the fire. The investigation did not confirm the pilot's suspicion about the fuel line.
