Incident Details
A pilot conducting a solo flight experienced a landing accident during approach to a runway situated on a golf course. The pilot touched down off the side of the runway, on the golf course grounds, after drifting sideways while low and slow.
Pilot's Account
The pilot stated that he had no current medical certificate or FAA pilot license. He reported that most of the time, the company provided a pilot, but on this day, he was unable to obtain one and conducted the flight himself. During the landing approach, he described being low and slow, drifting sideways, and touching down off the runway.
Aircraft Damage
The nose gear and left main gear collapsed upon landing. Substantial damage was sustained to the propellers, lower fuselage, and left wing.
