Event Description
A pilot reported that during the landing roll-out, after the aircraft had traveled approximately 1500 to 1700 feet down the runway, it swerved. Subsequently, the nose gear failed. The bottom of the aircraft sustained damage from the forward spar to the nose, and both propellers were damaged.
Pilot Statement
The pilot believed that either the left brake or the nosewheel had caused the aircraft to turn off the runway.
Inspection Findings
An inspection and operational check of the left brake revealed no discrepancies. However, due to impact damage, no determination could be made concerning the operation of the nose gear.
