Event Description
A business cross-country flight experienced a decrease in fuel pressure, which was accompanied by a subsequent reduction in engine power. In response, the pilot adjusted the manifold pressure in an attempt to maintain engine operation.
Landing Sequence
Approximately 3 to 5 miles from El Paso Airport, the pilot executed a landing on desert terrain. During the landing, the aircraft contacted a mound of sand, resulting in a ground loop.
Post-Accident Examination
An examination of the engine was conducted but did not reveal any anomalies that could explain the loss of fuel flow and engine stoppage.
