Incident Overview
Approximately four minutes after departure, the pilot transmitted that an engine had failed and the aircraft was descending. The airplane subsequently crashed into a residential area, where it struck power lines, a fence, and two houses.
Fuel Investigation
Post-crash examination revealed that the aircraft had been flown during the day without refueling. The right auxiliary fuel tank contained three quarts of fuel, and the right main tank contained one pint. The left auxiliary tank contained one quart, while the left main tank was found separated and dry. There was no evidence of fuel spillage, and the fuel sumps were dry.

The pilot was operating a Cessna 337 for the company for the first time.
