Incident Overview

During a training flight, the flight instructor (CFI) simulated a forced landing for the student pilot. The student was not making the intended landing area, so a go-around was initiated. As the aircraft climbed through 1100 feet, power was again cut off for a simulated landing. The student did not react promptly, and the aircraft entered an excessive rate of descent. Despite the CFI ordering a second go-around, the descent was not corrected before the aircraft contacted the ground.
