Accident Overview
A pilot flying a single-engine airplane experienced a loss of engine power approximately 3 miles from the airport. The pilot had just switched the fuel selector from the right to the left fuel tank. The pilot estimated that there were 5 to 7 gallons of fuel in the right main tank and about 12 gallons in the left tank at the time.
