Wire Configuration
The field being sprayed was bordered on the north by highly visible power lines. The wires along the east side were not as visible. One wire span extending from the east to the north was longer than usual, which made those wires even less apparent.
Flight Path
The aircraft was engaged in a spraying operation and was performing a clean-up swath run. It was flying in a southeast direction as it approached the power lines.
Collision
While flying southeast, the aircraft struck two wires in the longer span connecting the east and north boundaries. One wire broke the windshield, and the other became entangled in the landing gear.
Aftermath
Following the collision, the aircraft lost airspeed and rolled into an inverted attitude. It continued forward and downward until it struck the ground.
