Incident Overview
A pilot reported that during a final approach, the aircraft began an unexpected descent below the intended glide path. The pilot applied full power to reduce the descent rate, but the aircraft touched down approximately 20 feet short of the runway on an upward slope.
Sequence of Events
After the initial touchdown, the aircraft bounced into the air. During the subsequent touchdown, the left wing struck the ground. The aircraft then slid along the ground and came to rest on its right wing side.
Damage Assessment
Post-incident inspection revealed damage to the propeller, engine, both wings, the nose, and the undercarriage.
