Accident Overview
An aircraft crashed during a return flight for a second load, according to witness accounts. The aircraft was overheard returning to the strip and was observed entering a steep bank at about 70 feet above ground level (AGL) while turning toward the strip. As the wings leveled, the sound of high engine power ceased, and the aircraft descended to the ground. Just prior to impact, some witnesses heard a brief burst of power.
Impact Location
The impact occurred on the rising portion of uneven terrain after the aircraft crossed over a fence located near a pond.
Wreckage Examination
An examination of the wreckage was conducted, but no preimpact mechanical malfunction or failure was verified.
