Landing Attempt
The aircraft was high and fast on final approach and touched down approximately one-third of the way down the runway. The nosewheel contacted the runway first, causing the aircraft to begin porpoising. In response, the pilot applied power to stop the porpoising and then elected to perform a go-around.
Go-Around and Obstacle Avoidance
To avoid trees near the end of the runway, the pilot turned right toward a clearing that contained a highway. While maneuvering over the highway, the pilot took evasive action to avoid a large camper and a power line. During these maneuvers, the aircraft began losing airspeed.
Collision
While turning back to the left, the left wing struck a road sign, and the aircraft subsequently crashed.
