Incident
A ground collision occurred between two aircraft on a taxiway. The aircraft involved were a North American T-6G, registration N1364J, and a Cessna 150K, registration N6402G.
Sequence of Events
The pilot of the T-6G had just landed and was taxiing down a parallel taxiway toward the approach end of the runway to take off again. At approximately the same time, the Cessna 150K was stopped at the intersection of the parallel taxiway and another adjoining taxiway. The Cessna had been stopped so that the flight instructor (CFI) could exit the aircraft, allowing the student to proceed with his third supervised solo flight.
As the T-6G approached the intersection where the Cessna was parked, the T-6 pilot made a shallow S-turn to the left, then another S-turn back to the right. At that moment, the left wing of the T-6 impacted the empennage of the Cessna from the left rear.
Aftermath
The CFI had just deplaned and was standing on the ground next to the Cessna. The impact knocked him off balance. He grabbed the strut to keep from falling toward the propeller, then fell under the Cessna and injured his knee. Neither pilot involved was aware that the collision was about to occur.
