Overview
During takeoff, the aircraft experienced a loss of power at approximately 200 feet above ground level. The pilot feathered the right engine and elected to land on the remaining runway. However, the left engine also lost power. The aircraft went off the runway end with the brakes locked.
Post-Accident Examination
Following the incident, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) examination of the aircraft revealed about two ounces of water in the fuel filter bowl of the right engine. Additionally, each carburetor contained approximately two tablespoons of water. The spark plugs had accumulated a large amount of carbon. All other components appeared normal.
