A solo student pilot was returning to the home airfield after a landing practice flight at dusk. The pilot made an initial landing attempt that resulted in an overshoot, prompting a go-around. Approach and Landing Attempt
This choice required an obstacle approach over a dwelling located at the approach end of the selected runway. The pilot focused on ensuring clearance from the dwelling and did not notice power lines in the failing light conditions until it was too late to avoid them. A pull-up was initiated, but the undercarriage caught on the wires.

The aircraft tipped nose down onto the roof of the dwelling, slid down the roof slope, struck the ground nose first, and then tipped over to an inverted position.
