Accident Overview
According to witness statements, the pilot of the aircraft conducted multiple low-altitude passes over a building, during which the aircraft was observed rolling about its longitudinal axis. After the third pass, the aircraft entered a steep bank, stalled, and pitched down into a wooded area.
Weight and Balance
Post-accident examination revealed that the aircraft exceeded its maximum certified weight by at least 73 pounds. The center of gravity (CG) was not verified during the investigation, but the elevator trim was found in the full nose-down position. Additionally, cargo was located in a position that would have shifted the CG aft.
Toxicological Examination
A toxicology test detected traces of benzoylecgonine and cannabinoids in the pilot's urine; however, no impairing substances were found in the pilot's blood.
