Accident Details
The accident occurred during an aerial application training flight. At the time, the pilot was performing a swath run. The flight was part of training for aerial application operations.
Sequence of Events
While executing a pull-up at the end of the swath run, the right wing of the aircraft struck the tops of three willow trees. Following the tree strike, the aircraft entered a right roll. Subsequently, it struck an electrical power line. After striking the power line, the aircraft continued to roll inverted and impacted the ground on its nose and left wing. The initial impact with the trees occurred while the aircraft was on an easterly heading.
Environmental Conditions
At the time of the initial tree impact, the wind was from the northwest at 5 to 7 knots, resulting in a quartering tail wind relative to the aircraft's heading. No other environmental conditions were specified in the source.
