Accident Sequence
The pilot, who was familiar with the airport, conducted a landing approach. During the landing, the pilot observed the wind sock indicating calm winds, and the airplane was landed into the sun. After touchdown, during the landing roll, power was added for a takeoff. When the airplane was approximately two-thirds of the way down the runway, the pilot decided to abort the takeoff and attempted to stop on the remaining runway. The airplane was unable to stop before running off the end of the runway, crossing a road, and colliding with a small tree.
