Incident Overview
The pilot reported an uneventful preflight and takeoff. Shortly after becoming airborne, a partial loss of engine power occurred, and the pilot found that level flight could not be maintained. A forced landing was executed in a field.
Post-Accident Examination
Following the accident, an FAA airworthiness inspector examined the wreckage. The inspection revealed nothing abnormal with the engine. Additionally, several fuel system components were found to be operational: the electric boost pump, the engine-driven fuel pump, and both fuel tanks, which were three-quarters full of 100LL aviation fuel. Both fuel sumps were drained, and no water or other contaminants were observed.
