Incident Overview
A certified flight instructor (CFI) reported an incident during the landing roll on Runway 24 at Flabob Airport in Riverside, California. The airplane began to drift to the right, and the CFI applied left rudder to correct the deviation. However, his left foot slipped off the rudder bar and became lodged against the bar and the floor.
Sequence of Events
As the left foot was stuck, the airplane continued its right turn. Subsequently, the left wing contacted the ground. The CFI did not report any mechanical malfunctions or failures with the aircraft.
Weather Conditions
Surface winds were from about 20 degrees to the right of the nose at approximately 7 knots. The effective crosswind component was less than 3 knots.
Findings
No airplane mechanical malfunctions or failures were reported. The incident appears to involve a loss of rudder control due to the foot slipping and becoming lodged.
