Incident Report
Reportedly, during the landing roll, the aircraft went off the right side of the runway. It continued across a shallow ditch and down an embankment. The pilot was operating in calm winds.
Pilot Statement
The pilot reported that the aircraft began to swerve during the landing roll. The pilot attempted to correct the swerve using control inputs and braking, but the aircraft failed to respond. The swerve continued until the aircraft departed the runway to the right.
Notification and Findings
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) were not notified of the occurrence until after the aircraft had been removed from the site. During the subsequent investigation, no preimpact part problem was verified.
