Incident Overview
A pilot reported that the flight was uneventful until after landing. Upon landing, the pilot received an instruction over the common traffic advisory frequency on his VHF radio directing him to park the aircraft at a new parking area. He complied with the instruction.
Parking Area Conditions
The designated parking area was congested with additional aircraft flown in by visiting pilots for the upcoming holiday weekend. The pilot began to turn his aircraft into a parking position without the aid of ground personnel.
Wing Strike
During the turn, the outboard section of the right wing struck a light pole, according to the pilot. He further stated that neither he nor his passengers ever saw the light pole.
