Accident Details
The pilot reported that he was performing a touch-and-go landing on a 5,400-foot by 200-foot asphalt runway. Wind conditions were light. According to the pilot, he had reconfigured the aircraft for takeoff and was about to advance the throttle when the aircraft swerved to the right and ran off the runway.
Sequence of Events
After leaving the runway surface, the right main landing gear encountered a taxiway. The impact caused the right main landing gear to separate from the aircraft. Subsequently, the right wing struck the ground and sustained damage.
Post-Accident Examination
The wheels, tires, and brakes were examined following the accident. No deficiencies were noted in these components.
