Accident Sequence
According to witnesses, the pilot made an approach to runway 34. The runway sloped downhill toward its north end. The aircraft reportedly touched down approximately 1,000 feet down the 1,750-foot runway. One witness heard the tires squeal as the pilot applied brakes in an attempt to stop. The pilot then applied power and initiated a go-around, but the aircraft subsequently crashed into trees, well to the left of the runway centerline. Investigators found evidence that the aircraft impacted in a nose-low, left-wing-low attitude.
