Weather and Approach Attempts
The pilot attempted to land on runway 26 twice but discontinued both approaches because of unfavorable winds. Winds were reported as 220 degrees at 20 knots with gusts to 30 knots. The pilot then made two unsuccessful attempts to land on runway 17L.
Final Landing Attempt
On the third attempt to land on runway 17L, the pilot selected 10 degrees of flaps and performed a wheel landing. According to witnesses, a wind gust lifted the right wing, causing the aircraft to depart the left side of the runway.
Go-Around and Stall
The pilot added full power. The aircraft bounced, became airborne, and began to stall. The pilot then closed the throttle.
Collision with Parked Aircraft
The aircraft subsequently collided with a parked aircraft.
Pilot Statement
The pilot reported that as he applied full power, a "violent" wind gust caused his feet to slip off the rudder pedals.
